Integrating a Renovation and Redefining a Home Layout

A new customer came to me with a home they wanted to develop into their family homestead. Two families and children were coming together into a fixer home. The home included a old main house and a new addition. The rooms were not conducive to normal living. The kitchen was located in the basement. The new design included

An On-suite Master Bedroom, three Bedrooms with a shared bath, and one Bedroom with a future on-suite bath.
An open plan space for the Kitchen, Dining room, and Den
A relocated back door and Mud room
A library converted into a Home Office
A larger Master Bedroom
A large Living Room

Caretakers Suite: Addition to a Carport

A long time customer desired to adapt their existing carport into a two bedroom caretakers  suite.  We tried to design a renovation/addition to the existing structure and to tie in the architectural details of the main house. The design included

A small closeted entry large living space that has access to the deck
An office/guest room with a full bath and closet
A kitchen/dining space with a hidden laundry closet
A master bedroom with a full bath and walk-in closet
A safe room/mechanical room
The carport becomes a 2-car garage, an exercise room, and a sauna
